Dan Patlan to headline Blues Festival at The Stables Wine Estate

Nottingham Road – Ace blues guitarist Dan Patlan will headline a unique concert at The Stables Wine Estate on 9 December, where he will perform with the popular Wills Blues Band.

Patlan, or Patlansky as he was formerly known, has quickly won a loyal following for his virtuoso guitar technique, and passionate interpretation of Blues legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, and is currently on a national tour with a hand picked support band of the countries top blues musicians.

Patlan, who has just released a new album as a follow up to his critically acclaimed “True Blue” debut album, which was released on the prestigious Blue Note label, has developed a trademark style with his Fender Stratocaster in hand, and in a concert will dabble in the full ambit of blues, from traditional New Orleans style blues to Chicago blues to modern rock blues.

The Blues Festival at The Stables Wine Estate outside Nottingham Road follows the highly successful Spring Vine Budding Festival at the Estate, which starred the duo of Nibs van der Spuy and Guy Buttery.

The December event will also serve as an opportunity for followers of the Stables wine Estate to taste the 2006 Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc wines, which will be available for the first time at the blues festival.

Tickets to the concert will be limited to 200, and will cost R150 per person which will include a glass of KwaZulu-Natal’s first sparkling wine, Balgowan Bubbly, on arrival. Bookings can be directed to
The Stables on 033 266 6781.
