Top KZN Musicians to star at The Stables Spring Vine Budding Festival

Durban - Top KZN musicians Nibs van der Spuy and Guy Buttery have been clinched to perform at the inaugural Spring Vine Budding Festival at The Stables Wine Estate outside Nottingham Road on September 30.

With a big crowd expected to flock to the estate for the gathering, van der Spuy, who has been acclaimed as one of the leading acoustic guitarists in the country for many years, is delighted to have been asked to perform, as it will twin two of his great passions in life - acoustic guitar and fine red wine.

"I am very excited about this concert," enthused van der Spuy. "I can't wait to play at the Spring Vine Budding Festival at The Stables, as I am a great wine lover, especially of reds. I feel our music will have a great deal in common with the wine estate,”  Van der Spuy added.

Van der Spuy and Buttery have formed a critically acclaimed partnership, which explores new areas of harmony between the acoustic guitar, ukelele and many other instruments. They will be playing new material from their latest solo albums- ‘Beautiful Feet’ and ‘Songs from the Canefields’ respectively.

The Spring Vine Budding Festival has been launched as a celebration of the emergence of the new grapes from the various vines that have been successfully established in KZN, which has proudly taken KwaZulu-Natal into the global wine market by securing the first KZN wine of origin certification for their Pinotage Clariet.

Wine and music lovers will be able to enjoy the music, a carafe of wine and a branded wine glass for R95. Tickets are only available at the estate and can be bought on the day. Any eager music and wine lover can secure tickets in advance from The Stables to avoid disappointment.

Bus transport will also be arranged from both Durban and Pietermaritzburg. Pick up from central Durban or Pietermaritzburg in luxury bus with bubbly on the bus out to The Stables Wine Estate, entrance, wine, a glass, spit braai meal and return trip all inclusive at R590 from Durban and R540 from Pietermaritzburg.
