The surprise package of Carl Folscher and Hungarian ace Adrian Boros took second in the three boat endsprint for the silver medal. Boros was quick to point out to Nick Tatham that he couldn't take all the credit for the sprint finish.

Interview -Siseko Ntondini
Gauteng based youngster Siseko Ntondini was elated top race onto the podium at the FNB Dusi, and said that after a short break to concentrate on the work and schooling he had missed, he would focus on marathon racing in 2018.

Jordan and her younger sister Cana (K-Na) Peek were rewarded for their guts and consistency when they won the women's title at the FNB Dusi Canoe Marathon. Cana told Nick Tatham afterwards that the feat hadn't sunk in yet.

Interview - Bridgitte Hartley and Christie Mackezie
The second place finish by Bridgitte Hartley and Christie Mackenzie was remarkable as Hartley had collapsed going up Burma Road portage, leaving Mackenzie to carry the K2 on her own. Hartley told Nick Tatham that she was determined to repay Mackenzie.
