Coastal & Inland in crunch time action

Durban Both the Hollywoodbets KZN Coastal and Hollywoodbets KZN Inland teams will do battle this week in the CSA 3-Day Cup and One Day Challenge against Eastern Province and Free State respectively.

The two sides will be seeking crucial victories in their red ball contests with both sides in need of a win to increase their chances of silverware going into the Christmas period.

Inland and Coastal sit in fourth and fifth on their respective logs in the three day competition and they are both eager to win this week to put pressure on the teams ahead of them on the logs.

Coastal will host Eastern Province at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium starting on Thursday, while Inland will take on Free State at the Pietermaritzburg Oval.

The Coastal side have still got a strong core of the side that won the 3-Day Challenge trophy last season and are hoping that they can click as a unit this week.

It has been a difficult campaign for the Durban-based side, however with the fire-power in the side they have a good chance of putting that complete performance together against EP.

Inland will have the services of Cody Chetty. Chetty only recently made his debut for Inland and brings important experience to the line-up this week.

Captain Luke Schlemmer has been one of the stand out performers for Inland and has come of age with the bat, and along with Grant Roelofsen and the returning Ruhan Pretorius he will be crucial to the batting line up.

Pretorius hasn't played a first class clash since March this year but has been a vital cog in the Inland set up for a number of seasons.

In the limited overs competition Inland sit in second spot in Pool A with nine points behind Easterns while Coastal are fourth in Pool B with eight points. Both sides have won two matches in the group stages, but Coastal have played one less match than Inland.
