Dolphins made to work hard on day three in Durban

Durban - Having lost a large chunk of the second day to bad light, the Hollywoodbets Dolphins put in the hard yards with the ball on Wednesday as the visiting Multiply Titans finished the day on 325 for eight, with a lead of 139.

Having taken one wicket on day two the Dolphins would have been hoping to make a strong start to the day, however a resolute partnership from Andrea Agathangelou and Gionne Koopman halted their push for wickets.

A partnership of 69 was broken when Eathan Bosch got his second wicket, bowling Agathangelou for 49.

Koopman and Jonathan Vandiar added 23 before the former became Okuhle Cele's first victim, LBW for 33.

The partnership between Vandiar and Henry Davids started to look ominous for the Dolphins, however it was debutant Lwandiswa Zuma who bagged his first wicket in Dolphins colours, Davids caught at mid-wicket for 13.

Sizwe Masondo was Keshav Maharaj's first victim, LBW for six and with the score on 153 for five.

Vandiar's vigil was then ended when he was caught by the wicket keeper Grant Roelofsen for a patient 67 off the bowling of Zuma.

Titans captain Shaun von Berg and Matthew Arnold added 62 for the seventh wicket before the captain was caught by Cody Chetty for 54 off Maharaj.

22 runs later Arnold was also undone by Maharaj, caught by SJ Erwee for 37.

The players came from the field as the light deteriorated and the Titans were 313 for eight but managed to get back out on the park for a few more overs before stumps was called.

Eldred Hawkin registered a 50 in very little time off 41 balls and he was assisted by Tshepo Moreki, who finished the day on 12 not out.

The Dolphins will be hoping to pick up the two wickets on day four with the Titans resuming on 325 for eight.
